The Security Operations team within the Information Security Office may be small, but we are driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for growth. - Collaborate with any of the 1,500 members of the campus IT communityJoin our IT community, attend lunch-and-learns, IT unconference and give chalk talksShare your discoveries and experience with other engineering and ops teams within our university and peer institutesMentor emerging talentMake presentations at conferences
- Analyze security alerts, assess and triage as needed for investigations/incident responseParticipate in a wide range of security programs and services, building and running security information systems and tools.Handle service-related tickets/slack messages from community members.Promulgate security best practices through automation, education, and collaboration.Maintain familiarity with current InfoSec issues, trends, incidents, tools, and practices relevant to Stanford.
- Bachelorâs degree plus three years relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.A minimum of three years of experience as a contributing member of an enterprise-oriented technology team. Prefer at least five years of increasingly technical work experience
- Youâre a well-rounded, critical thinker.Demonstrated growth mindset and desire to make things betterDeep knowledge of modern information technology systems and strong interest in cybersecurity.Minimum of three years of operational experience in one or more of these fields: systems engineering, deployment/automations engineering, endpoint engineering, authentication, log analysis, cloud administration, or network administration.Prefer working knowledge of SIEM like Splunk or ElasticsearchPrefer experience in large enterprise security environment and cloud security,Python or other software engineering experience is a plusStrong written and oral communicationsStrong interpersonal skillsConviction, Curiosity, and Collegiality
