Precourt Institute for Energy
As part of the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability, the Precourt Institute for Energy concentrates the talents of the University on energy research and education, from basic science and technology to policy and business. We disseminate research results and help the University develop energy-literate leaders as part of its educational mission. We work across campus in all seven of Stanford’s schools. We also build collaborations globally with industry, other research institutions, government, and civic organizations in pursuit of sustainable, affordable, secure energy for all people.

Understand Energy

The Understand Energy team is seeking a full-time Product Manager focused on Learning Hubs. We have two public-facing educational websites: The Understand Energy Learning Hub, which launched in November 2023; and The Extreme Energy Efficiency Learning Hub, which is scheduled to launch in late 2024. The 35 web pages on the Understand Energy Learning Hub require constant updating to keep the ever-changing energy content current and ensure coordination with the Stanford Understand Energy course lecture materials. The Extreme Energy Efficiency Learning Hub will also require regular content updates and additions. Both Learning Hubs require ongoing marketing support to ensure we maximize the reach of these educational resources across the globe. The Product Manager will work under the general supervision of the Understand Energy Project Manager to support all of these tasks.

In achieving these goals, the Product Manager will manage and execute programs and tasks such as:

    Contribute to the UE Learning Hub and course content by researching, evaluating, and verifying information; analyzing data; reviewing energy videos and readings for inclusion; developing content for “Fast Facts” on energy topics; and creating and updating course lecture slides.Develop original educational energy content for the monthly UE Learning Hub Newsletter and the UE course workshop in partnership with the UE Managing Director and UE Project Manager. Lead some of the workshop sessions. Collaborate with UE Learning Hub team members and internal and external content experts to provide recommendations on relevant UE Learning Hub and energy topics.Create slide decks and speaker notes for UE Learning Hub “10-Minute Takes” and other short energy-related videos using UE course lecture slides, independent research, and input from the UE Learning Hub team.Enhance and maintain personal knowledge of energy topics by attending UE class lectures, reading news and informational articles, and watching curated energy videos.Work with the UE Project Manager on strategic marketing and communication efforts to promote the UE Learning Hub including tasks such as managing email campaigns and generating social media posts.Understand and communicate the features, benefits, and advantages of the product/program to a target audience.Gather, analyze and report on product/program data.Execute a tactical plan to meet the product/program objectives.Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of product/program elements.Provide administrative support to Product/Program team.Track product/program progress against goals and schedule.Assist in the development of materials which support the product/program.

To be successful in this position, you will need:

The expected pay range for this position is $39.60 to $45.67 per hour.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
