Duties:

The Web Content Specialist, under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Marketing, is responsible for producing and managing web pages, social media and other electronic content. The Web Content Specialist is responsible for ensuring a clear, consistent and strategic brand message in digital mediums. The Web Content Specialist is dedicated to the learning college concepts by developing programs and facilitating activities that promote student success and lifelong learning.
Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Edits, maintains and publishes content for webpages, social media and other digital marketing efforts, with a strong preference for experience with WordPress.
  • Writes, edits and proofreads marketing materials, ensuring alignment with AP style and college branding guidelines.
  • Posts, coordinates, monitors and follows up with social media content on the college’s branded accounts.
  • Develops and implements the college’s overall social media strategy and works with college clients to ensure the best use of social media.
  • Guides, coordinates and mentors content contributors with various levels of familiarity with web and social media practices.
  • Collaborates with various departments and clients to develop marketing strategies and campaigns, ensuring the completion of projects that support enrollment and brand enhancement goals.
  • Interprets and applies web data and social media insights to improve the website, digital marketing, social media, etc.
  • Assures quality of the college’s digital presences by identifying and fixing issues.
  • Ensures proper use of the college’s branding and style guidelines across digital platforms.
  • Monitors and reports on the effectiveness of digital marketing campaigns, including web traffic and ad performance, and provides insights to optimize strategies and ROI.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or a related field. Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience required, preferably within higher education.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Strong communicator with solid writing and editing skills; knowledge of AP style
  • Experience with content management systems, preferably WordPress
  • Familiar with HTML, web development and design principles
  • Experience with digital marketing and search engine optimization (SEO)
  • Experience administering social media brand pages with knowledge of best practices
  • Self-starter who can solve problems, manage multiple projects at once and track timelines effectively
  • Must be able to work quickly under deadlines and follow through on assignments
  • Must have good interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, community members and vendors
  • Demonstrated collaboration and creativity skills
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Minimum Starting Rate:

$47,470 (plus exceptional benefits)
