Testing Examiner
Type of Position:Staff
Responsibilities:This position reports to the Testing Administrator and is responsible for administering tests and maintaining records of exams given at Lamar State College Orange. The Examiner assists the Testing Administrator in providing information by phone, email, letter, and in person to individuals while maintaining confidentiality and with attention to detail.
- Administers “secure,” institutional, and individual exams in the Testing Center.
- Administers exams for PearsonVue and Meazure Learning.
- Assists the Testing Administrator in training and supervising student workers.
- Assists in the planning, organizing, scheduling, and returning of testing materials.
- Receives and records inventory of tests sent by instructors.
- Stores tests and/or sends tests as required.
- Provides test results to appropriate recipients.
- Maintains paperwork, current data records on computer, and keeps confidential records in accordance with institutional policies and testing mandates.
- Proctors exams from various institutions.
- Assists in off-campus testing when appropriate.
- Participates in mandatory training required for testing administration and institutional guidelines.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
At least one year of work performing detailed operations with evidence of successful performance in professional work.

Lamar State College Orange currently has a student body of approximately 2,648. Two-year academic programs are offered in business, communication, computer science, criminal justice, education, liberal arts, theater, natural science and sociology. These academic programs lead to associate of science degrees and will transfer to four-year institutions for students seeking baccalaureate degrees. Thirty technical programs are available, leading to associate of applied science degrees, certificates of completion and institutional awards. Some of these degrees include process operating and industrial technology, instrumentation, and medical office. Customized training programs to meet the needs of local business and industry and offered through the Continuing and Workforce Education Department.
