The Shasta-Tehama-Trinity Joint Community College District (Shasta College) sits at the northern end of the Sacramento Valley, surrounded by mountains to the north, east, and west. The main campus is located in the city of Redding, population 90,000. DESCRIPTION OF BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe Maintenance Electrician performs maintenance, repair, alternation, and installation of electrical equipment in District buildings and facilities. Employees in this classification receive general supervision within a framework of standard policies and procedures. Employees in this classification may oversee the work outcomes of others to accomplish projects. This job class requires technical knowledge and skill in the methods, procedures, materials, and equipment used in skilled electrician work, as well as the ability to perform semi-skilled electrical maintenance operations. This job class functions at a journey level of classification.
CLASSIFICATION: Range 40 on the current Classified Salary Schedule, Up to 28 hours per week, Up to 12 months per year. Work assignment hours vary from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
SUPERVISOR: Director of Physical Plant or designee
BENEFITS: 40 hours of sick leave per year. No medical, dental or vision insurance provided.
