    St. Edward's University, a nationally ranked, independent Catholic university and Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure- track position as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science, beginning August 2025. St. Edward's is characterized by its commitment to the Holy Cross educational mission to educate the hearts and minds of a diverse student body that is deeply committed to social justice.

    The successful candidate should demonstrate potential for excellence in undergraduate instruction and be able to teach a diverse range of undergraduate courses with an emphasis on developing and teaching Cybersecurity-related courses within the Computer Science Department.

    For consideration, candidates should possess or expect to earn, before August 2025, a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.

    Essential Responsibilities Include: Candidates should have the interest and ability or potential to teach a range of undergraduate courses and support a diverse student body.
    • Teach a typical load equivalent to three 4-credit courses per semester (with an automatic one course reduction for research for new tenure-track faculty)
    • Design and teach a range of computer science undergraduate courses with a focus on Cybersecurity-related courses such as Network Security, System Security, Operating Systems, Computer Networks and other special topics in Cybersecurity
    • Maintain a program of scholarly activity that is conducive to mentoring student research and projects
    • Academic advising of computer science students and service to the department, school and university
    • Other duties as assigned

    About the School of Natural Sciences: The School of Natural Sciences is home to six academic departments, including Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Computer Science, Forensic Science, Kinesiology, and Mathematics. The School of Natural Sciences also houses the Wild Basin Creative Research Center (located at the 227-acre Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve), and the Institute for Interdisciplinary Science that fosters cross-sector partnerships, interdisciplinary collaborations, and training in informatics and emerging technologies. The school's approximately 600 majors learn in modern facilities including over 110,000 square feet of teaching and laboratory space.
