Purpose of Position

The Department of Radiology at the University of North Dakota (UND) School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS) seeks a visionary leader to serve in a part-time capacity (0.1 FTE) as the Chair of the Department of Radiology. This position is located at the UND SMHS Southeast Campus in Fargo, North Dakota.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Advise and mentor students concerning radiology career choices
  • Personally engage in teaching pre-clinical and clinical UND learners as needed, including medical, and health professional students, residents, and fellows
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to advise the faculty in integrating radiology into the medical school curriculum
  • Recruit and retain clinical faculty in radiology and manage the affairs of the department, such as promotion and tenure
  • Mentor and support clinical faculty in their interactions with UND learners
  • Encourage scholarship in radiology by departmental faculty and associated learners
  • Participate in faculty governance at SMHS in parallel with the other clinical chairs, including attendance at regular clinical chairs’ meetings, such as Faculty Council (FC), Clinical Chairs, and Clinical Sciences Curriculum Subcommittee, etc.
Minimum Requirements
  • MD or DO within the field of radiology.
  • Unrestricted license and the ability to practice within the state of North Dakota.
  • Board certified.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
