Description:Reporting to the Vice Provost for Research and Sponsored Programs, the Grants Manager provides administrative support to all Principal Investigators to ensure compliance and efficiency in all post-award activities. The Grants Manager shall provide oversight for planning, budgeting, invoicing, and reporting of University sponsored programs and shall work closely with the Office for Sponsored Research and the Controller’s Office to ensure proper coordination, adequate training and ensure compliance requirements are met.
This position offers a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Reviews proposal budgets to ensure compliance with University policy and sponsoring agency regulations.
- Ensures all approved proposal budgets are appropriate and reviews and approves all budget adjustments to ensure compliance with sponsor requirements.
- Monitors post-award grant administration, including financial activity and spending in accordance with sponsor guidelines.
- Works with the Controller’s Office to ensure all revenue and expenditures are properly recorded.
- Ensures submission of all invoice/billings on a timely basis.
- Ensures compliance with University policy and federal, state, and local regulations.
- Performs subrecipient monitoring, and oversight of Single Audit requirements.
- Ensures compliance with time and effort reporting requirements.
- Reviews and documents internal controls processes and grant policies.
- Provides regular training for and communication with Principal Investigators and sponsoring agencies and coordinates activities with the University’s Office for Research and Sponsored Programs and the Controller’s Office.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field required.
- Minimum 4 – 6 years of experience in post-award Grants Administration/Sponsored Programs.
- Strong knowledge of Office of Management and Budget – Uniform Guidance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to contributing positively to an inclusive work environment.
- Experience with Single Audit and reporting requirements preferred.
- Knowledge of Banner Ellucian financial systems and Crystal Reports.
- Experience in Higher Education Grants Administration.
