Job Overview

The Student Financial Aid office is looking for a Financial Aid Advisor to fill a replacement role. This position will be reporting to the Assistant Director of Financial Aid. The ideal candidate will be able to interview and advise students and parents concerning financial aid, as well as evaluate and process financial aid applications. Essential Functions
  • Assist students and parents in completing forms for available financial assistance. Evaluate and process financial aid applications for this population.
  • Monitor the processing of scholarships, grants, loan or work-study aid.
  • Maintain records of various types of financial aid granted; and prepare designated reports.
  • Meet with various groups both on and off campus to explain financial aid policies and/or to obtain new funds.
  • Serve as a liaison to campus partners and external agencies.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
Required Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Trainings/Certifications

Required Experience
  • Three (3) to six (6) months experience in advising in scholarships and financial aid or related field.
  • Experience as an intern or student employee is acceptable.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
