Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $18.32 - Midpoint: $21.97 (Hourly N4)
Department/Organization: 214143 - Eng Services - Facilities
Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00am to 5:45pm; flexibility required.
Job Summary: The Building Associate coordinates building operations and services. Monitors all buildings and facilities. Communicates facilities issues that may affect work or safety to occupants. Serves as initial contact for incoming shipments and deliveries.
Additional Department Summary: Serves as a building representative for all College of Engineering facilities. Monitors all buildings and facilities daily. Informs building occupants about any facilities issues that may affect their safety or ability to work. Works with multiple University departments to coordinate needed maintenance or repairs. Coordinates the logistics and operations for all Engineering buildings, which includes being the initial contact for incoming shipments and deliveries and providing general oversight of student workers in the receiving area to manage all shipping, receiving, storage, and inventory operations. Performs various entry level general building maintenance tasks.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience in construction or building maintenance/monitoring.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to obtain forklift certification.
Skills and Knowledge: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Self-motivated. Ability to multi-task. Ability to use hand tools and power drills. Ability to climb ladders.
Preferred Qualifications: One (1) year construction experience with basic knowledge of carpentry. Previous experience with driving a forklift.
