Position Summary

The Recruiter I will be responsible for implementing effective recruiting strategies while supporting the overall goals of HRIC. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks effectively, and the flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances in a dynamic environment.

Essential Functions:

Full-Cycle Recruitment:

  • Oversee the recruitment and selection process for non-benefited staff and adjunct faculty positions, ensuring a seamless experience for all stakeholders.
  • Conduct intake meetings with Hiring Managers to clarify job requirements, review posting language, and prepare for search launches.
  • Develop and manage non-benefited pooled postings, collaborating with unit business officers to create accurate job postings.
  • Serve as a consultant to hiring supervisors and search committees throughout the recruitment process, providing guidance and support.
  • Initiate and review background checks in collaboration with HR partners to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Manage the applicant tracking system (ATS), including applicant communications, status updates, and administrative support for hiring managers.
  • Candidate Experience:

  • Act as the main point of contact for recruitment-related inquiries from candidates and hiring managers, providing timely and effective responses.
  • Assist with external and paid advertising initiatives for other recruiters as needed, contributing to a cohesive recruiting strategy.
  • Serve as back-up support for the Recruiter II and Senior Recruiter, ensuring continuity in recruitment efforts.
  • Administrative Support:

  • Review and process non-benefited and academic programmatic background checks in HireRight.
  • Create and manage HireRight user records, ensuring appropriate access for departmental users.
  • Utilize monthly termination and new hire reports to maintain data security and integrity.
  • Create DU IDs and update personal information in the Banner system for non-benefited staff and adjunct faculty.
  • Assist with data entry and other administrative duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and maintain high accuracy in work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on customer service and collaboration.
  • Problem-solving mindset and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of EEO principles and their application in recruitment practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word, with familiarity in utilizing ATS tools.
  • Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-2 years of progressive experience in recruiting, business administration, or general human resources.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS).
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience in higher education recruitment.
  • Work Schedule
    Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.

    Salary Grade Number:
    The salary grade for the position is 9.

    Salary Rate:
    The salary rate for this position is $60,000-$62,000.

    The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
