Description

The Lead Case Manager, Behavioral Services will work with Case Managers in the Center for Wellness and Support to create a seamless continuum of services to support student success. The Lead Case Manager will provide triage and referral services for behavioral health and basic needs and will implement campus-wide basic needs initiatives under the direction of the departmental Directors. The Lead Case Manager will oversee the campus food pantry procedures, inventory, and budget. The Lead Case Manager will collaborate with other RCSJ departments and related staff to implement student training and campus-wide programs to promote health and wellness.


Travel will be required, as this position will work on both the Gloucester and Cumberland Campuses.

Examples of Duties

  • Conducts individualized, solution-focused, non-clinical assessments and triage to provide referrals for on- and off-campus resources for currently enrolled RCSJ students (i.e., academic support services, social services, community food pantries, mental health care, transportation, shelter, etc.).
  • Provides ongoing, non-clinical support and referrals for survivors of interpersonal violence.
  • Manages inventory, monitors budget and implements procedures for The Pantry.
  • Works collaboratively with Directors to continually develop The Pantry as a relevant and responsive resource for meeting students’ basic needs.
  • Collaborates with Directors and staff from Acenda Integrated Health to ensure linkage to the appropriate level of care based on discharge planning.
  • Refers students to community health insurance navigators and links to in-network mental health providers.
  • Supports student health, wellness, and basic needs initiatives on all campuses.
  • Maintains confidential files of student information, as needed.
  • Maintains records to track student usage of Behavioral Services resources and campus food pantries.
  • Ensures compliance with student training and educational components of Title IX, Clery, and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act
  • Serves on various college committees as assigned.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related social service field and/or equivalent experience required.
  • 3-5 years of case management skills and experience with people in situational crises
  • Case management skills and experience with people in situational crises
  • Understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality consistent with applicable federal and state laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of social service resources within Gloucester/Cumberland Counties and the surrounding areas
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Ability to network and collaborate with community resources and advocate for student needs
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with varied hours to meet department and College needs
  • Ability to travel between multiple campus locations and state to attend meetings, utilizing personal vehicle
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with all levels of the institution, and ability to work effectively with an ethically and culturally diverse campus community.
  • A strong commitment and knowledge of a comprehensive community college philosophy and a student-centered learning environment.
