Job Summary

To develop and implement academic programs and practices that attracts and support minority students to the Institute and encourage high levels of academic performance. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance and providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. This position will interact on a regular basis with: Faculty, staff, current and potential students, volunteers, professional associations, and community organizations. This position typically will advise and counsel: Faculty, staff, and students.This position will supervise: Assigned staff and students.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Promote the Institute as a place of higher learning for minorities through presentations on and off campus, at local and regional high schools, parent groups, etc.

Job Duty 2 -
Develop strategic methods of academic success to include providing services and workshops to students.

Job Duty 3 -
Monitor academic performance; develop and implement ways to improve performance by means of coaching, tutoring, curriculum mapping, etc.

Job Duty 4 -
Coordinate academic programs and create simulated curriculums.

Job Duty 5 -
Responsible for the operational planning, financial planning, budgeting, and individual program development and administration.

Job Duty 6 -
Responsible for the management, coordination, and staffing of all tutorial initiatives.

Job Duty 7 -
Evaluate tutor initiatives and staff.

Job Duty 8 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Four to five years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in an engineering, science, computer, or university environment highly preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires advanced knowledge of conflict resolution, estimating, quality management, strategic counseling, academic and career counseling; skills in employee training, program administration, database management, event planning, and volunteer coordination; a working knowledge in project management, trouble shooting, data analysis, data compilation, and public relations; excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication, making presentations; basic knowledge of office related computer applications.

Other Information

Job Grade: A9

Pay Range: $63,303.00 to $86,091.00

Salary will be commensurate with experience and education

Working Arrangement: Hybrid (Will discuss schedule during interview)
