Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.:- Associate degree or experience in financial management.
- 5 – 7 years of experience in financial management, budgeting, or a related administrative role, preferably within a higher education or public sector environment.
- Expert-level experience in using financial software and tools, including advanced Excel skills.
- Experience in financial management with expertise in accounting principles and budgeting practices, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with senior staff and external partners.
- Experience in problem-solving and decision-making.
- Experience in organization, time management, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience with SAP and the Texas State University budget development and accounting practices.
The Administrative Budget Specialist for Marketing and Communications oversees the financial and administrative functions within the Division of Marketing and Communications at Texas State University. This role supports the division by managing budgets, revenue-generating activities, and operational processes to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of marketing, promotion, and communication efforts across the university.
Job Duties:- Manage and oversee all financial matters within the division, including budgeting, forecasting, payroll, and financial reporting. Manage division PCRs (personnel change requests).
- Record transactions and reconcile daily, weekly, and monthly purchasing card and ledger reports.
- Lead division procurement process, request for proposals, and administer all partner and vendor contracts.
- Lead financial oversight and strategic planning for revenue-generating operations, including budget development, revenue forecasting, and performance analysis, to ensure financial goals are met and sustained growth.
- Develop and maintain financial and accounting systems in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of expenditures, revenue, and operational costs.
