JOB SUMMARY:

Reports directly to the Kitchen Manager. Assists in managing food service facilities and staff at Camp Hannon (March-August) and CULI Headquarters (October/ November-Feb). The CULI location includes the YLA Charter School, CULI Headquarters staff, summer camps, corporate training groups, etc.

Responsible for assisting with the planning, organizing, and directing of all food service operations.

This position is connected to providing food service for Youth Leadership Academy (YLA) in Pickens. As a staff of YLA you receive the benefit of enrollment in the school for you child(ren).

JOB DUTIES:

40% - Essential - Food Production:
Oversees and participates in the preparation of food items according to standard menus, recipes and verbal instructions. Prepares and serves according to DHEC standards, maintaining appropriate temperatures of both hot and cold foods. Maintains ServSafe standards and certification at the assistant manager level.

20% - Essential - Staff Supervision and Training:
Assists with scheduling staff and provides input in the staff evaluation process. Instructs staff in the correct techniques of food preparation for maximum palatability and appearance with minimum waste. Provides staff with training on sanitation and proper food handling and storage to avoid spoilage and cross contamination. Follows DHEC standards and guidelines to ensure safety of food service personnel.

20% - Essential - Organization & Planning:
Manages accurate food and supply inventory records. Ensures food is stored according to proper sanitation and standardized food storage practices. Helps determine requirements for personnel, equipment, food and supplies needed for each service. Assists in maintaining the standards and quality, sanitation and maintenance; Conducts frequent inspections to ensure DHEC standards are met and maintained throughout the food service area. Assists with planning menus to ensure a balanced diet within established cost

20% - Essential - Maintains Equipment:
Ensures that food service equipment and facilities are maintained in good working order. Conducts frequent inspections to ensure maintenance standards. Ensures food is stored correctly within temperature and container guidelines. Ensures equipment and facility are cleaned and maintained for each shift of employees. Ensures dining facilities are prepared in accordance with participants/group needs. Monitors freezer and refrigerator temperatures and reports any deviation from standards for repair.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

Expected Salary Range ($ 27,510.00-$36,000.00)




Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

Normal Operations

Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
