LOCATION: Green Bay
STANDARD HOURS: 40 hours per week. Typical hours Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Flexibility required to include other evening and/or weekend hours, as necessary.
SALARY RANGE: $69,344 - $74,737 per year
*Salaries/Wages for all finalists (internal and external) will be placed within the range based upon education, experiences, current wages, and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY
Assists Director of Academic Advising in supporting Academic Advising colleagues, developing and maintaining policies and procedures for the Academic Advising department, collaborating on campus-wide and advising specific events/initiatives, training, onboarding, and development of team members. Advises students in select programs to assist students in exploring careers, evaluating academic abilities, and setting goals. Assists with registration and graduation requirements. Advises students regarding course content, course selection, pre-requisites, curriculum changes, recommended credit load, curriculum planning, and financial aid processes and policies to insure successful and timely graduation. Makes recommendations to divisional leadership and students regarding appropriate courses of action to respond to students’ complex personal and academic challenges.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Work with the Academic Advising Director to assist with planning and execution of advising focused goals and initiatives, address team concerns and questions coordinate, develop and provide training and mentorship. Serves as a functional supervisor to academic advising team related to goals and initiatives, accountability and training/professional development.
- Collaborate with other campus departments as needed to improve advising process and services; function as an expert on advising-related inquiries; serve on committees as needed.
- Foster positive working relationships among peers to attain department goals and objectives.
- Use coaching framework, assess the student's stage of development (academic, career, and personal) and promote student growth by determining suitable developmental tasks; assist student in establishing realistic and attainable academic and career goals. Advise students regarding course content, course selection, pre-requisites, curriculum changes, recommended credit load, and curriculum planning to insure timely graduation.
- Coach students on academic, career and personal issues; identify the educational and career options appropriate for each student and assist with the analysis of each option, including possible outcomes and their implications; if needed, refer student to appropriate student services; set up an action plan for the student to meet their academic goals.
- Gather and interpret data to prepare and analyze reports for retention, tracking, and accountability.
- Work collaboratively with other teams to carry out events.
- Develop and implement retention strategies to increase student success consistent with College programs., Resolve questions and educate students on policies and procedures.
- Advise students on credit for prior learning and prepare appropriate documentation.
- Advise students on general financial aid information and assist with financial aid appeals.
- Assist in recruitment of potential students by advising them of general academic requirements; describe courses; disseminate information regarding registration procedures.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: A minimum of four years related experience in higher education or related industry (K-12, social work, etc). A minimum of two years of leadership experience within and/or experience in managing processes preferred.

Computer Skills
Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with client database or Student Information Systems (SIS).
Other Requirements
Previous experience in advising and career assessment is preferred.
Must hold a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the District’s standard insurance policy terms.
