Southeast Missouri State University's Marketing and Communications department is seeking a skilled and creative Web Developer. The Web Developer will be responsible for designing, coding, and modifying websites from layout to function, ensuring a seamless user experience. This role requires a combination of programming skills, an eye for design, and an understanding of user experience.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain SEMO’s website, ensuring a consistent look and feel across all pages
  • Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code by using best software development practices
  • Create website layouts and user interfaces using standard HTML/CSS practices, integrating data from various back-end services and databases, and ability to write clean, maintainable code
  • Collaborate with designers, content creators, and other stakeholders to match visual design intent
  • Optimize websites for maximum speed and scalability
  • Ensure website functionality and stability across devices (desktop, mobile, tablet) and browsers
  • Conduct website testing and debugging to ensure high-quality performance and technical health
  • Provide ongoing website maintenance and stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and industry trends to apply them to operations and activities
  • Enthusiastically collaborate with team members to achieve University goals, create effective campaigns, and elevate the SEMO brand
