The Associate Director, Graduate & Executive Degree Programs Admissions at Georgetown University McDonough School of Business supports all activities related to the smooth and effective recruitment and enrollment of incoming students for our Master's programs, particularly the Master of Arts in International Business & Policy program (MA-IBP). The Associate Director will work closely with the Associate Dean on special projects pertaining to the recruitment, admissions, and alumni engagement of executive degree programs and specialized masters within the team's portfolio of programs. This person also has primary responsibility for all aspects of admissions operations, including oversight of the application system, interview scheduling platform, admissions processes and processing, credential evaluation, and decision processing for all Masters programs within the team. They will also ensure that back-end technology systems like Banner are working correctly and that system updates are ongoing. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage all aspects of internal recruiting outreach for MA-IBP, including answering emails, telephone calls, and walk-in inquiries.
  • Implement all procedures for MA-IBP recruiting outreach and follow up with prospects.
  • Ensure that all MA-IBP marketing material content, both printed and online, is up to date and factually represents program goals.
  • Engage, cultivate, and manage the MA-IBP recruiting pipeline.
  • Working with the Associate Dean, plan recruiting events such as on and off-campus information sessions and online information sessions and occasionally travel to represent McDonough at recruiting events and fairs.
  • Act as a liaison to other departmental units within the University such as the Financial Aid, Registrar, and Student Services, assisting the Associate Dean with the preparation of data collection for recruitment forecasting.
  • Ensure a seamless integration of admissions data with other University systems (Salesforce, Banner, OGS), being integral to successfully achieving departmental goals.


Work Interactions

The Associate Director, Graduate & Executive Degree Programs Admissions reports to the Senior Director, Graduate & Executive Degree Programs Admissions. The Associate Director does not have direct reports. The Associate Director of Graduate & Executive Degree Programs is the first point of contact with MA-IBP prospective students and thus will influence whether or not prospective students apply to and enroll in our programs. It is essential that this individual be professional, knowledgeable about all of our master's program offerings, and customer service-focused with a problem-solving mindset and a poised, professional demeanor. The output must be of quality and consistent to ensure talented and diverse incoming MA-IBP classes that contribute to the program's ongoing success and the University's strong reputation. Executing a smooth recruitment and admissions process is essential to ensure that the "bottom line" is adequate to support the financial goals of the School. The Associate Director liaises with various Georgetown University offices and partner schools. All must be done in a wholly professional and collaborative manner. This position interacts with alumni for MA-IBP recruiting purposes and engagement. These relationships impact our "bottom line" and contribute to the success of the program and alumni community. This position interacts with outside vendors for contracts. These contacts and the subsequent arrangements impact our "bottom line" and contribute to the program's success.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years' experience in a professional environment required; experience in a higher education/admissions environment is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must be comfortable with large institution IT environment
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with outstanding interpersonal abilities and a poised, professional demeanor
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in maintaining confidential data
  • Critical ability to multi-task, prioritize, and execute, along with a critical eye for detail
  • Ability to build relationships with prospective students
  • Experience planning and managing a wide range of events and activities
  • Confidence in taking initiative, asking questions, and making recommendations with the end goal of process improvement and customer satisfaction
  • Comfort working directly with executives at all levels and a genuine desire to understand and engage with international cultures
  • Must be able to think strategically in the delivery of programs and services
  • Resourceful and able to problem-solve/troubleshoot technological systems


Preferred Requirements and Qualifications
  • Knowledge of admissions information systems/databases is strongly preferred.
  • Prior use of Marketo or similar sophisticated marketing automation tool is strongly preferred.

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$44,022.00 - $73,406.80

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
