About the College/Unit/Department:Join a top-ranked Management Information Systems Department renowned for its innovative programs and scholarly productivity, housed within UGA’s Terry College of Business. The department offers the following degrees: on-campus Ph.D., online Master of Business & Technology, on-campus BBA in MIS, and on-campus FinTech certificate. In addition, the Terry College of Business offers an online MBA, on-campus MBA degree, on-campus Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA), and off-campus Executive/Professional MBA degrees. The MIS department is consistently ranked highly nationally and internationally for both its programs and its scholarly productivity. Minimum Qualifications:Candidates must have a Master’s (see Additional Requirements below) or Doctoral Degree in Information Systems or a related discipline from an AACSB accredited university or international equivalent at the time of appointment.
Position Summary:The Department of Management Information Systems (MIS) in the Terry College of Business at The University of Georgia invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track faculty position at the lecturer or senior lecturer level. This position is expected to be 100% instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2025.
The department is looking for an experienced quality candidate to fill this role and subsequently is open to a wide range of teaching experience associated with MIS related topics. Participation in the life of the department, e.g., department and college committee membership and other forms of service, is expected of all faculty.
Candidates with a Master’s degree must document exceptional accomplishments (for instance – industry experience, awards, certifications) in management information systems and must be approved for a terminal degree exception before hire.
The position is renewable based on performance and promotion is possible after six years of service. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to teach a variety of courses associated with MIS curriculum for instance, data analytics, systems analysis and design, computer programming at the undergraduate or graduate level. The ability to teach in the areas of AI, or Product Management would be a plus.
