Job SummaryThe University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Recreation Center Facilities Coordinator on the Dahlonega campus. The Facilities Coordinator for the Department of Campus Recreation & Wellness serves the primary role of being responsible for the day-to-day facility operations for the Student Recreation Center, Hoag Game Room, Radar Ridge, and the Sand Volleyball Court on the Dahlonega campus. These duties include, but are not limited to, facility and equipment management, Recreation Center and Hoag Game Room scheduling, event management for all Dahlonega Campus Recreation and Wellness facilities, including fitness and facility rental operations, risk management, security, oversight of equipment maintenance and minor facility repairs, as well as overseeing student facility staff. The Facilities Coordinator will supervise a team of approximately 40 student employees and will oversee the delivery of customer service, student training, development, and leadership opportunities.
Responsibilities- Manage day to day operations, scheduling and facility/event management of the Campus Recreation Center, Hoag Game Room, Radar Ridge, and the Sand Volleyball Court on the Dahlonega campus. These duties include, but are not limited to, facility and equipment management, scheduling, event management for all Dahlonega Campus Recreation and Wellness facilities, including fitness and facility rental operations, risk management, and security.
- Hire, train, supervise and evaluate 40 Recreation Center student staff, through detailed job orientations at the start of employment as well as through regular staff meetings and leadership opportunities.
- Oversight of exercise equipment maintenance based on recommended manufacturers guidelines, including communicating with manufacturers on warranty related issues, and minor facility repairs.
- Assess, research and evaluate facility rules and best practices to ensure patron safety and risk are being managed appropriately.
- Other Duties as Assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge and skill in the following areas: Developing strong student employee teams focused on the customer experience; health, fitness and recreation-based facilities and/or programs; facility operations, event management, and scheduling; risk management; managing a student staff; demonstrated expertise working collaboratively across multiple departments; scheduling and coordinating events; basic exercise equipment repair.
- Customer service skills.
- Ability to multi-task preferred.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- CPR, AED, and First Aid within the first year of employment required.
- One (1) year of experience within a student campus recreation center preferred.
- Experience in an office setting preferred.
- Experience working with databases preferred.
- Experience in the production of marketing materials preferred.
