- Collect, manage, and analyze datasets related to cloud and data center usage, costs, and service metrics.Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and reports for tracking data center and cloud metrics, including capacity, demand, and facility performance.Identify trends, anomalies, and usage patterns; provide actionable insights for data center and cloud resource optimization.Conduct regular analyses of cost and capacity data to support data-driven recommendations and effective resource management.
- Track and report on key metrics for data center services, including rack, power, and cooling utilization rates.Provide facility reporting insights to inform strategic decisions regarding physical infrastructure and environmental controls.Forecast capacity needs and demand trends to ensure alignment between resources and organizational requirements.Collaborate with data center operations and facilities teams to maintain accurate metrics and enhance reporting capabilities.Collaborate with engineering and service teams to design cost-effective solutions and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Work closely with stakeholders across Stanford IT, including data managers, engineers, facilities, and finance, to support a culture of accountability around resource utilization and cost.Present findings and insights to technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership.Collaborate with data center operations and facilities teams to maintain accurate metrics and enhance reporting capabilities.Collaborate with engineering and service teams to design cost-effective solutions and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Bachelor's degree and one year of experience or a combination of education and relevant experience. Experience in a quantitative discipline such as economics, finance, statistics, or engineering.2-3 years of experience in data analysis, financial operations, or resource planning within IT environments, with a focus on infrastructure optimization and cost management.At least 2 years of experience with cloud platforms, spanning both public (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and private cloud environments, as well as familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, HyperV).Exposure to or hands-on experience with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools for effective capacity planning, asset tracking, and facility monitoring in data center environments.A solid understanding of cloud infrastructure best practices, including cost optimization strategies, capacity planning, and usage analytics across hybrid environments (public and private cloud).
- Strong analytical skills with experience in deriving insights from complex datasets.Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel) and visualization platforms (e.g., Incorta, Tableau).Familiarity with cloud cost management and data center capacity planning tools.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical and financial information across diverse audiences.
