The Assistant Dean of Educational Programs reports to the Dean of Educational Programs and supports the supervision, planning, and evaluation of instructional departments and programs. The Assistant Dean assists the Dean of Educational Programs with daily operations, program development, and maintaining compliance with regulatory bodies. This position works closely with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to enhance academic programs and promote student success.
Minimum Qualifications:Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
Minimum of two years of college-level teaching experience, program development, assessment, or administrative experience in higher education.
Experience working with grant-funded programs (e.g., Perkins) is desirable.
Knowledge of educational program administration, curriculum development, and assessment.
Proficiency with standard office and educational software (e.g., MS Office, Learning Management Systems).
Experience using Teams/Zoom, Banner, and SmartCatalog is preferred.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Skills to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and make sound decisions.
Experience working with students and faculty support services.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly carry up to 10 pounds and lift 10 pounds.
Progression through relevant educational administration roles preferred.
SALARY :Minimum of $78,000.00
Work Hours:40 hours per week
Essential Job Functions:Assist the Dean in supervising department chairs and program coordinators in employee selection, evaluation, program planning, and service delivery.
Assist with credentialing and onboarding of new faculty.
Support strategic planning and budgeting processes for educational programs and monitor budget expenditures under the guidance of the Dean.
Collaborate with the Dean on the development, revision, and assessment of educational programs in response to evolving industry trends and requirements.
Assist the Dean with updating core curriculum and technical programs through the THECB portals.
Assist in the preparation, submission, and implementation of the Perkins Basic Grant, including monitoring grant expenditures.
Stay informed of relevant compliance requirements of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) requirements, and assist the Vice President for Academic Affairs in ensuring compliance.
Assist the Dean in the preparation of reports/documents related to SACSCOC and the THECB.
Coordinate and analyze data related to labor market trends and workforce needs to inform program development.
Manage the publication of the Class Schedule, Catalog, Faculty Handbook, Faculty Credentialing Manual, and other print materials for educational programs.
Coordinate and collaborate with offices and staff to support admissions, registration, financial aid, and student success.
Coordinate and collaborate with offices and staff to support faculty recruiting, faculty development, program and course assessment and all aspects of quality instruction.
Comply with campus policies and procedures.
