Job Details
Seeking qualified, experienced instructors for Humanities courses in English, Communications, and Humanities Department in General Education. Successful candidates will also have experience with face-to-face or online classes as needed.
We are recruiting adjunct faculty—primarily for online sections—to teach various courses in the arts and humanities, including Art History I, Art History II, Introduction to Humanities I, Introduction to Humanities II, Introduction to Philosophy, and Introduction to Ethics.
Typical Job Functions
- Provides instruction to post-secondary students in assigned content area
- Develops related instructional materials (such as syllabus, lectures, course materials, evaluation tools, classroom activities, and others)
- Teaches courses online and face-to-face
- Works closely with the Online Learning Team to build online courses
- Maintains consistent office hours
- Attends in-service and other departmental meetings each semester
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
- Master's degree in core subject area with at least 18 graduate credit hours in these disciplines Incumbent must reside in Idaho (Currently CEI does not sponsor H-1B Visas)
- Bilingual (Spanish)
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.On-site work is essential and regular predictable attendance is required. Employees may be required to work at occasional events and handle tasks outside of regular working hours. Background Investigations:Employment at College of Eastern Idaho will be contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background investigation and may require a credit and/or motor vehicle background investigation depending on the position. Please refer to Policy 225: Background Checks.
