Job Details
The Math Tutoring Specialist will advance the student-centered mission of Tutoring Services through responsibilities that include: building and maintaining faculty partnerships, supporting campus resources for math tutoring programs and initiatives, providing tutoring support within the Tutoring Center, and acting in the capacity of the embedded math specialist in the classroom. This person will also assist with the collection and reporting of program data. This is a multi-year grant funded position – continuation is contingent upon renewed funding.

QualificationsEDUCATION
- Bachelor's Degree in mathematics or mathematics education. Required
- Graduate credits in Learning Disabilities, Basic Skills Development, Developmental Education, or related discipline. Preferred
EXPERIENCE
- Teaching or tutoring experience. Required
- Experience with academically disadvantages students. Preferred
ABILITIES AND SKILLS
- Ability to tutor in subject area for which hired. Required
- Effective oral and written communication skills. Required
- Knowledge of learning theory, learning styles, and educational methods. Required
- Functional ability with or aptitude to learn microcomputer functions and software tools necessary to function in a face-to-face and remote tutoring environment. Preferred
- Ability to work independently. Required
