Job Details
The faculty will assist students and supervise/evaluate student performance in the Dental Hygiene clinic.
Schedule: We are seeking applicants who are available to teach evening hours on Mondays and/or Wednesdays, from 5 pm to 9 pm.
QualificationsEDUCATION
- Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene or related discipline. Required
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Possession of a current Dental Hygienist Licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Required
- Possession of a current Dental Hygienist Anesthesia Certification in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Required
EXPERIENCE
- One (1) years experience equivalent to three (3) days per week or more in a dental or dental hygiene practice. Required
- Evidence of successful teaching experience. Preferred
ABILITIES AND SKILLS
- Possession of or eligibility for dental or dental hygienic license in Pennsylvania if required by course assignment. Required
- Possession of a currant CPR Certification with willingness to maintain. Required
- Good oral and written communications skills. Required
- Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with students, faculty, staff, and the public. Required
- Sensitivity to the expectations of students, faculty, and staff. Required
- Must be certified in CPR. Required
- Demonstrated sensitivity to diversity and multicultural issues. Required
Responsibilities
- Provide didactic, clinical, and pre-clinical instruction in dental hygiene courses.
- Maintain accurate written records of Student performance.
- Counsel students on individual progress.
- Maintain office hours according to contractual agreement.
- Assume limited responsibility for laboratory development, coordination, and maintenance.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend Department meetings as requested.
