Job Details

The Department of Policy, Organizational, and Leadership Studies in the College of Education and Human Development at Temple University is seeking to fill a non-tenure track faculty position in Educational Leadership and Policy beginning August 2025. The compelling candidate will be able to fill key instruction needs by demonstrating deep knowledge and expertise in urban education, schooling, and school administration.  Ideally, the candidate for this position will have prior higher education teaching experience, prior school or school district leadership experience, and expertise in organizational leadership and change, education policy, urban education, and civic engagement. In addition to the aforementioned duties, the responsibilities of the position include advising master’s and doctoral students, chairing and serving on dissertation committees, and participating in department, college, and professional service activities.  

Qualifications: Required qualifications are an earned doctorate in education, educational leadership or administration, or a relevant field, and experience in teaching university-level courses. Experience as an administrator in a school district or school leadership organization, and administering executive-style education programs, is strongly preferred.

The Department: The Department of Policy, Organizational & Leadership Studies (POLS) prepares graduates for leadership roles in academic, organizational, and community settings. We prepare and support leaders who focus on equity and who demonstrate an appreciation for and integration of diverse perspectives.

Our department, as a learning community, is composed of faculty with diverse perspectives that are mutually supportive scholars and practitioners with a range of areas of scholarly expertise and experiences working in and with organizations, schools, nonprofit organizations, and government entities.
