Position Purpose:The purpose of this position is to provide a variety of administrative support services to mental health clinicians, to increase office efficiency, maintain quality client care, and expedite and coordinate the delivery of clinical services in collaboration with the office administrative team. The primary purpose of this position is answering phones and schedule coordination. Additionally, a key component is handling confidential and sensitive information, exercising discretion concerning its disposition, and communicating protected health information to staff clinicians. Due to the diverse needs of the student/client population, this position requires professionalism and a high degree of sensitivity.
Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp:Associates or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Experience working effectively within a complex organization.Experience working with and appropriately administering sensitive information and records.Experience with general office equipment and functions, including multi-line phone system and appointment software.Ability to manage a range of administrative responsibilities.Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse community.Strong organizational and task prioritization skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Sensitivity & commitment to the needs of students experiencing mental health concerns.Ability to maintain and manage confidential information and situations.Ability to demonstrate initiative and independent judgement and work effectively without continuous supervision or oversight.Demonstrates respect, professionalism, and consideration when dealing with students and staff.Ability to recognize callers in distress and refer to appropriate supports.Ability to work effectively in a busy student environment and while maintaining focus on the positive impact that counseling services have on the lives of students.Ability to understand and relate well to students and others of diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in a medical or counseling office setting.Experience using EMR to schedule appointments.Experience working with HIPAA-protected information.
