LEHIGH UNIVERSITY. The Department of Accounting invites applications for a non-tenure-track and non-tenured position as either a Teaching Assistant Professor, Teaching Associate Professor, or—for candidates with current extensive industry experience—Professor of Practice. This position is a renewable, fixed-term, non-tenure-track, full-time position, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025. The initial term of appointment is three years.
Candidates must have, at a minimum, an earned Master’s degree in accounting or a closely related field by the date of employment, practical experience in public or corporate accounting positions, and substantial knowledge of US GAAP and Auditing Standards.
The individual hired will be expected to teach eight course sections per academic year (normally four per semester), which are likely to include several different accounting courses such as financial accounting, managerial accounting, accounting information systems, auditing, and/or tax. They are also expected to be highly engaged and committed members of the accounting department and be involved in undergraduate and graduate teaching, curriculum development, student mentoring, and department service assigned by the department chair. Candidates should specify on their resumes any prior teaching experience and specific accounting courses they have taught and/or are capable of teaching.
While the position is not tenurable, Teaching Assistant Professors who develop excellent records in the areas of teaching and service are expected to become eligible for consideration for promotion to the rank of Teaching Associate Professor, and ultimately to the rank of Teaching Full Professor.
