Job Title:Coordinator, Camps and Competitive Sports

Department:Student Life | Recreational Sports Administration

The Camp and Sports Programming Specialist leads all Summer Camp operations of day camp for 150 campers a week from 6-13 year olds, and provides support to the Competitive Sports area during the academic year. Applies industry knowledge and advanced understanding of minor related programs and service programs to create program schedule and manage logistics for the all program areas; reduces risk in daily camp operations; manages pick up and drop off for camp; provides oversight of camp registration process cultivates relationships with key partners including Office of Institutional Equity; recruits, hires, trains, certifies, schedules, supervises, evaluates and retains a diverse student staff of approximately 50 students and 1 Graduate Administrative Associate; conducts staff training and directs the evaluation of employee skills to promote and assure a meaningful and appropriate program; maintains and assures the readiness of program equipment; conducts regular student staff meetings; prepares and audits the student staff payroll, inventory, student staff uniforms, program equipment and process purchase requisitions to replenish as needed; completes required reports, operational logs, requests, and other paperwork as required and necessary; conveys difficult, complex and sensitive information to co-workers, and participants ; works to build consensus between program areas and facilities in which they are occupying; facilitates productive dialogue between diverse groups ; attends scheduled professional staff meetings and provides leadership. Assists in cultivating relationships with ODJFS and Minors Policy Office at Ohio State. Proficient in member and recreational sports management programming software

Specific competitive sports responsibilities include assistance with facility and staff scheduling and operations for sport club home events, oversight and management of Competitive Sports Office during school year, assist with sport officials training and development, lead Competitive Sports program partnerships through special programming and develop and execute sport club officer and risk manager trainings.

Some evening and weekend hours required. Other duties as Assigned

Additional Information:

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required. Experience working in summer camp or programs with minor participants required.

Desired Qualifications: Masters degree or an equivalent combination of education and 2-4 years experience; experience working with Innosoft Fusion software, or other camp software programs, as well as Do Sports Easy, IM Leagues and SubitUp; experience working in a Recreational Sports setting; member of American Camp Association (ACA); experience in a higher education setting.

Pay range: $19.09-$23.08
