The Academic Advising Manager supervises 4-6 Academic Advisors in University Exploration advising and reports to the director.
The Academic Advising Manager has broad knowledge of policies, processes and procedures in undergraduate advising at Ohio State and in University Exploration and is able to support their advisors in all advising situations.
In particular, the Academic Advising Manager will support University Exploration's Transfer, Campus Change and Major Change students and the advisors who advise these populations. Also advises students directly. Advising load is small relative to Academic Advisors but advising duties will increase during peak scheduling periods.
The Academic Advising Manager will work with the director and fellow advising manager to set strategy and vision for the unit's support of its staff, including coaching and goal-setting, and its students, including campaigns, initiatives and improvements to services.
Oversees services for these populations of students, including Transfer Orientation and Survey, Campus Change transition support and Major Change process, and oversees continual refinement and assessment of these services.
Manages advising staff on advising principals/standards. Performs as a subject matter expert when identified as a resource for special projects or strategic requests. In addition to project deployment, responsibilities may include professional development for staff, performance management, and determination/communication regarding pay.

Education/Experience
Required: Master's Degree; 5 years of relevant experience.
Desired: Experience managing people; 8-12 years of relevant experience preferred.
Additional Information:The pay range for this job profile is $55,100 - $72,400. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
