Responsibilities and Duties
    Assists in monitoring and preparing budgets by reviewing departmental budget transfers, maintaining accurate records of budgetary transactions and expenditures, and collecting data to prepare budget reports. Conducts and supervises pro card purchases.Manages and oversees Stratus submission of all faculty and staff travel in the department, including submitting travel authorization and travel expense reports for travel.Manages and tracks Foundation accounts and faculty grant accounts. Assists faculty in communicating with the Office of Sponsored Programs and Research and other TU entities and offers support in meeting guidelines and requirements of the grants and/or the financial policies of TU. Manages and tracks the operating budgets for TU Debate and the Public Communication Center and works directly with the directors to appropriately allocate funds in those accounts.Manages and tracks equipment and supplies inventory, including equipment and supplies for the Public Communication Center, TU Debate, and the Department of Communication Studies.Prepares faculty and staff contracts and tracks adjunct faculty budget allocations.Develops, implements, and maintains paper and electronic filing systems which meet department needs and satisfy requirements for retention and information security. Enters, updates, and retrieves information as needed. Creates reports as needed. Assigns advisees to faculty and staff advisors and schedules and tracks teaching peer observations.Provides administrative support to the committee which administers the appointment, promotion, and tenure review of faculty.Assists in logistical support for departmental events, participates in efforts to promote and publicize the program, and coordinates printing and publication requirement with University or external resources.

Telework may be available for this position up to two days per week following the completion of 90 days of service in good standing.



Qualifications and Skills
    High school diploma or equivalent.Three years of experience providing administrative support.General knowledge of and skill in the practical application of generally accepted office practices and procedures.Ability to communicate effectively.Ability to proofread and edit written documents.Skill in various computer software packages, such as word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation programs, Internet, email and calendaring software.Ability to understand and follow instructions.Ability to interact effectively with internal and external parties in a courteous and efficient manner.Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments with general instructions.

Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience, and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
