Job Summary

Performs activities in one or several human resource management fields such as benefits, compensation, on-boarding, personnel research, recruiting, and training.

Responsibilities

This position is working within the Employee & Organizational Development team of the Human Resources Department. The primary focus of this role will be training and managing the employee training platforms.

Typical Allocation of Duties:

Employment and on-boarding - 20%
Perform employee recruitment, screening, interviewing, on-boarding, and orientation functions.

Prepare human resources documents - 10%
Prepare job profiles, benefits brochures, employee handbooks, and other materials as directed.

Maintain and compile data - 20%
Maintain and compile data in human resources information systems.

Employee relations - 10%
Advise employees, supervisors, and managers regarding employee relations policy and programs. Counsel employees and managers regarding work-related issues.

Assist with plans, policies, and procedures - 10%
Assist in the formulation of staffing plans and personnel policies and procedures.

Benefit management - 10%
Perform benefit management functions. Counsel and enroll employees in benefits programs. Maintain benefit records.

Training and risk management - 10%
Administer employee training and risk management functions.

Other duties - 10%
Perform other human resources related functions as assigned.

Supervisor Expectations:

  • Assess employee training needs using surveys, interviews, focus groups, and consultations with managers.
  • Design, plan, and deliver training programs tailored to organizational needs and employee development.
  • Manage and oversee employee training platforms, ensuring ease of access, user engagement, and reporting.
  • Develop and organize training materials, including procedure manuals, handouts, visual aids, and compliance training.
  • Deliver engaging training sessions using diverse instructional techniques such as role-playing, simulations, group discussions, and team exercises.
  • Apply adult learning principles to create innovative and effective training solutions.
  • Support strategic projects aligned with VSU's key initiatives and department events.
  • Will serve as the Tuition Assistance Coordinator


Required Qualifications

Required Experience
Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of related work experience.

Proposed Salary

$40,025

    • Job-specific training such as: FMLA and Worker's Compensation, Budget Manager training, Purchasing Training (ePro & PCard), and Defensive Driving
