Job Details
A Research Specialist position is available in the Princeton Neuroscience Institute at Princeton University. The Falkner Lab focuses on neural circuit dynamics in subcortical circuits during social behavior. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day laboratory operations, including routine animal care (e.g. assist lab members with mouse breeding) and work with the researchers to design and perform experiments. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and hard-working individual.
This is a one-year position with the possibility of renewal contingent upon funding availability and performance.
Responsibilities- Perform general lab maintenance duties
- Manage mouse colony
- Assist researchers with experiments and data analysis
- Other duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) in Neuroscience or related field.
- 1 year minimum laboratory experience pre- or post-baccalaureate
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Outstanding references.
- Experience with mice and running rodent behavior.
- Proficient with programming in Python and/or Matlab.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with methods in computational neuroscience.
- Experience with animal husbandry (rodents).
