Position SummaryCHARACTERISTIC DUTIES – RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates hiring, training and employee development and/or related human resources activities for a large department or unit of similar size and complexity.
- Develops and implements employee engagement activities for the MAU.
- Coordinates interviews, processes hiring information, oversees departmental orientation, and initiates training for student and regular employees.
- Assists in identifying and implementing departmental training and employee development activities.
- Maintains and recommends updates to departmental job descriptions and related task information.
- Develops and maintains internal personnel files for the MAU.
- Prepares and assists in preparing reports.
- Maintains or increases human resources knowledge through coursework, attendance at workshops and seminars, or outside reading.
- Participates in special projects and committees.
- Performs and assists in performing general administrative activities as assigned.
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in human resources, a related social science field, or a field related to the operations of the department; two to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a human resources function; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires attention to detail and in-depth familiarity with HR processes within an organization.

- Experience with supporting multi-department or multi-site organizations
- Experience in policy and procedure implementation
