PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The PT Assistant I, Fine Arts performs standard administrative duties for multiple individuals or customers. Activities are routine and may be repetitive. Basic duties may include receiving and logging information, making copies, preparing correspondence or basic documents, answering routine questions and inquiries, providing information and directions, unpacking and delivering supplies, creating inventories, printing/cutting/selling tickets for all performances, handling cash, making deposits, and submitting reports to the Dean’s Office.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Assists all areas of Fine Arts including Drama, Music, Art and Dance in regards to project development, marketing, and performance/exhibits
  2. Monitors social media outlets
  3. Box Office – selling and tracking tickets for all performances
  4. Prepares deposits
  5. Operates a variety of office equipment, such as a personal computer, photocopier, fax, scanner or calculator. Progressively utilizes the features of one or more standard business software packages up to the following skill level: Intermediate
  6. Word Processing: inputs and edits standard text for routine correspondence and reports
  7. Spreadsheets: inputs and updates data to established spreadsheets
  8. Opens and sorts mail
  9. Answers phones and email; taking messages or redirecting callers as needed
  10. Maintains and files department documents
  11. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Responsible and dependable
  • Working knowledge of office practice and procedures
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and common office software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize duties using sound customer service principles
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small packages; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED
Salary

Hourly Pay Rate is $11.78
