Job Details
The Dental Services Department is seeking a Dental Hygiene Instructor. The Dental Hygiene faculty member reports directly to the Department Head. The faculty member's primary responsibilities are to teach courses by providing systematically planned and delivered instruction; design and develop curriculum; evaluate student performance; and advise students.
Minimum and Additional RequirementsThis position requires a bachelor’s degree or higher and one (1) year of experience in dental hygiene, a graduate of a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation, current SC licensure, or the ability to obtain SC licensure as a Dental Hygienist and CPR-Adult & child with AED certification.
Preferred QualificationsCandidate will have dental hygienist-related experience. Preferred will also have dental assistant certification, post-secondary teaching experience, and Infiltration Anesthesia and Monitoring Nitrous Oxide certifications. Must have a knowledge base of content related to the assigned teaching responsibilities and clinical expertise consistent with the assigned teaching responsibilities is essential. Candidate must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology and travel locally and outside of the tri-county area, if necessary. Must show initiative, work independently with sound judgment, and apply quality customer service standards and procedures. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are essential.

Faculty positions salary is commensurate with education and experience.
