Pay Rate:$85,000 - $88,000 annually

Position Summary:
The Director of Clinical Education for Respiratory Care reports to the Associate Vice President/Dean of Health, Business, Technology, and Science and will be working closely with the Respiratory Care Program Manager. The Director of Clinical Education for Respiratory Care is expected to demonstrate innovation and excellence in curriculum and co-curricular planning, foster an atmosphere of active intellectual and creative engagement in student achievement in and out of the classroom, and contribute to the advancement and overall welfare of the College community.The Director of Clinical Education is a 12-month full-time position with teaching responsibilities of nine (9) credits of coursework each semester. The Director of Clinical Education for Respiratory care has administrative duties to plan, organize, and supervise the clinical education component of the Respiratory Care program with regard to the various clinical affiliates. The Director of Clinical Education assists the program manager in the organization, continual development, evaluation, and general effectiveness of the program as related to goals and objectives. This position requires working effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are the functions essential to performing this job:
- Oversee all aspects of the clinical experiences of students enrolled in the program.
- Plan, administrate, continuously review and revise the clinical component for evolving practice skills, and the general effectiveness of the clinical experience.
- Schedule and coordinate all student rotations at the clinical affiliates.
- Participate in student recruitment, evaluation, and advisement.
- Teach 9 credits/semester (lecture and lab).
- Maintain laboratory equipment.
- Manage summer semester clinical administrative duties.
- Assist program manager with the general effectiveness of the program as it relates to goals and objectives.
- Perform other duties consistent with the expectation of full time faculty.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited academic institution
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Valid and current Maryland state RRT license
- Four (4) years experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Two (2) years experience in respiratory care clinical practice
- Two (2) years experience teaching in an accredited respiratory care program either as an appointed faculty member or as a clinical preceptor.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience teaching neonatal and pediatric respiratory care
- Experience teaching Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT)
- Experience teaching mechanical ventilation
- Experience teaching hemodynamic monitoring
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certified

8:30-4:30 Monday to Friday
