inclusion.The ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, facilities, major equipment, hiring, onboarding and training, contracts and competing priorities while promoting a culturally responsive educational and work environment.Ability and willingness to work with multiple industry partners, stakeholders, and transfer institutions
to creatively and collaboratively seek continuous improvement in reaching program outcomes and student success.Experience or ability to manage and supervise Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene CTE Programs and a fully operational patient clinic, while creating and nurturing a sense of community well-being and belonging.Leadership experience, as well as a background working in the Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene fields (experience in both preferred), including current and future issues/trends, licensure and/or certification processes and governing requirements.Successful application of collaborative leadership drawing on interpersonal communication skills, and ability to represent the college in diverse internal and external stakeholder engagement activities.Demonstrates skills in advocacy and problem solving, fostering and supporting a culture of innovation, evaluation of current and future issues/trends, and being a liaison with senior leadership.
To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked)
- Master’s degree or higher, with a background in education and the professional experience necessary to understand and fulfill the program goals.
- Five (5) years total of progressively responsible professional experience related to the area of assignment, providing program/project management or program/project coordination.
- Of those five years, three (3) years of management experience, including employee supervision, in higher education or in an industry related to the area of assignment.
In addition to PCC's Minimum Qualifications, the following Commission on Dental Accreditation standards will also need to be met:
- Certified Dental Assistant (DANB certified CDA).
- Currently licensed dentist or dental hygienist who is a graduate of a CODA-accredited program
PCC currently fully funds the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System (PERS/OPSRP) pension and contributes an additional 6% into the employee's Individual Account Program under PERS/OPSRP. After one year of management or confidential service, PCC also provides a 2% contribution to a 403(b) account for eligible management and confidential personnel. PCC offers a tax deferred annuity program and a deferred compensation program where employees may save additional pre-tax dollars for retirement.
Additionally, PCC provides a tuition waiver for you, your spouse/domestic partner, and dependent children under 24 years of age, as well as partial tuition reimbursement for full-time employees at other accredited institutions.
Paid Leave: (Pro-rated by FTE for Part-Time Employees)
- 14.67 hours of vacation leave per month
- 1 day of sick leave per month
- 12 holidays
- 3 additional personal leave days per year
Work is generally performed in an office environment with frequent work interruptions or changes in work flow. Occasional lifting, guiding, or carrying of light-weight materials or equipment may be required. Position involves sitting for extended periods of time while working at a computer terminal. Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), you may view Portland Community College’s (PCC) most recent Annual Security Report (ASR) on the Department of Public Safety website. The ASR contains current security and safety-related policy disclosure statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information and resources, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains crime statistics for Clery Act crimes which occurred on PCC properties for the last three calendar years. Paper copies of the ASR are available upon request at all Department of Public Safety offices.
