This leader will be expected to incorporate higher education and community college best practices into the practices of the administrative area. The Program Dean for Dental Sciences will lead a team of dedicated faculty, and staff in both our credit Dental Assisting (https://www.pcc.edu/programs/dental-assisting/) and Dental Hygiene (https://www.pcc.edu/programs/dental-hygiene/) programs, as well as the non-credit Dental Health (https://www.pcc.edu/climb/health/dental/) programs and oversees operation of PCC’s Dental Clinic (https://www.pcc.edu/dental-clinic/).

The successful candidate will have direct experience and strong knowledge of best practices in Career Technical Education, specifically in dental professions areas, and implementing initiatives to address equity and opportunity gaps in community colleges.

This position, under the direction of the Dean of Academic & Career Pathways for Healthcare & Emergency Professions (organizational chart: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Eg9X1nNTfyyDm8mI0rC9vDBV2apGAJz0/view); will be responsible for supporting, developing, implementing, and evaluating programming aligned with labor market and industry needs. This position will also be responsible for partnering with faculty, staff, academic affairs and student affairs colleagues to align programming with equitable student retention and success metrics.

The official responsibilities are to provide broad administrative direction and leadership in the development, assessment, and maintenance of quality education programs. Minimum Qualifications
To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked)

• Master’s degree or higher, with a background in education and the professional experience necessary to understand and fulfill the program goals.
• Five (5) years total of progressively responsible professional experience related to the area of assignment, providing program/project management or program/project coordination.
• Of those five years, three (3) years of management experience, including employee supervision, in higher education or in an industry related to the area of assignment.

In addition to PCC's Minimum Qualifications, the following Commission on Dental Accreditation standards will also need to be met:

• Certified Dental Assistant (DANB certified CDA).
• Currently licensed dentist or dental hygienist who is a graduate of a CODA-accredited program

Position GradeNStarting Salary ExpectationsMinimum $113,994 to range midpoint of $139,642. After one year of management or confidential service, PCC also provides a 2% contribution to a 403(b) account for eligible management and confidential personnel. PCC offers a tax deferred annuity program and a deferred compensation program where employees may save additional pre-tax dollars for retirement.

Additionally, PCC provides a tuition waiver for you, your spouse/domestic partner, and dependent children under 24 years of age, as well as partial tuition reimbursement for full-time employees at other accredited institutions.

Working Conditions and Physical RequirementsThe primary office location will be at the Vanport Building, with an expectation that the Program Dean spends time at each location where their associated programs operate. In addition, there will be some occasions where business will be required at other PCC or off-site locations. There will be some limited opportunity for remote/hybrid work, as approved by the position supervisor and executive leaders.

Work is generally performed in an office environment with frequent work interruptions or changes in work flow. Occasional lifting, guiding, or carrying of light-weight materials or equipment may be required. Position involves sitting for extended periods of time while working at a computer terminal.
