Position Summary:

Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a full-time Advanced Manufacturing Grant Specialist for a limited term position on the Fond du Lac Campus.  The Advanced Manufacturing Grant Specialist guides faculty in the course development process with the Instructional Design team in support of the Department of Labor Strengthening Community Colleges Grant initiatives and activities. The position supports the development of pathways within advanced manufacturing program areas between the college and other academic institutions. 

 

The successful candidate will have an Associate degree in business, communications or related field and two years of related work experience, such as in grant or project management.  Additional experience in curriculum development, and/or teaching preferred. 

 

This position is a limited term position funded by the Department of Labor Strengthening Community Colleges Grant through September 30, 2028.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a liaison to support the Department of Labor Strengthening Community Colleges Grant. Collaborate with WTCS colleges to align programing across the system and to identify and share best practices. • Support grant activities such as report writing, data collection, analysis and submission, project management, reconciliation, and project closure to ensure the college’s compliance with the grant. Facilitate a collaborative, campus-wide approach for the initiatives included in the Department of Labor Strengthening Community Colleges Grant.• In collaboration with Instructional Design team, guide the course development process, helping ensure projects are completed on time and within established requirements. Seek input from local employers with industry expertise during the development of the curriculum.• Research and make recommendations regarding emerging instructional strategies and maintain current knowledge of best practices in instructional design as it pertains to Open Educational Resources (OERs), Industry 4.0, cybersecurity practices, and integration of microcredentials within advanced manufacturing settings.• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the college community, employers, transfer colleges, K12 school districts, and other partners. • Conduct audits of existing high school career academies and articulation agreements. Coordinate updates and revisions of existing academies agreements. Identify opportunities for future pathways.• Seek input from internal and external partners to ensure microcredentials are relevant, current, consistent, and congruent with curricular standards and grant expectations. Provide input to the Dean of Applied Technology and Trades related to the development of new and revision of existing agreements for granting credit for prior learning (CPL).• Assist with post-award dissemination of materials and coordination of grant-related activities workshops and events. • Set up and maintain accurate, up-to-date files and documents in electronic repositories. Work with Credit for Prior Learning Specialist, Curriculum department, and K12 team to update associated documents.• Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Experience & Qualifications:

• Demonstrated project management experience and the ability to work independently and problem-solve using sound judgment.• Ability to work within a learning management system (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, etc.). • Knowledge of software applications, including Microsoft Office 365 (Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with end users, colleagues, and management to provide a complete and timely explanation of issues and decisions to ensure customer satisfaction.• Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to take initiative, work independently with little supervision and make sound decisions with minimal direction.• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team. • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.

 

Desired Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Curriculum and Instruction, Education, or a related field preferred.• Experience with open educational resources (OERs) and microcredentials.• Working knowledge of Industry 4.0 in advanced manufacturing, cybersecurity, and/or basic HTML coding, • Experience working with federal and/or state grants.Any combination of necessary experience and qualifications which provides desired knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Other Position Requirements:• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

 

 

Hiring Range: $25.45-$29.94

Starting: January 2025

Workplace Flexibility: Limited work from home upon approval

Hours/Schedule/Travel: Academic: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (37.5 hrs), Summer: Monday - Thursday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (34 hrs)
