The primary duties of the Upward Mobility Nursing instructor include classroom instruction, lab instruction, and clinical supervision, serve on assigned faculty committees, assist with student advising, continue professional development, and perform other related duties as required. Assigned courses may include at least one evening class or clinical per year. This position is required to teach a standard workload of thirty (30) semester credit hours of instruction each academic year beginning each fall and continuing through the following summer.
The Upward Mobility Nursing Instructor reports directly to the Upward Mobility Nursing Program Director.
Graduate of an accredited college or university with a MSN or BSN with master’s degree in related field and a minimum of six semester hours of graduate level content in nursing.
Must be a Registered Nurse and registered to practice in the State of Texas.
Must be currently employed in nursing or nursing education for the previous three years.
Experienced in clinical nursing practice and able to assist students in clinical practice.
Understand the teaching and evaluation methodologies used in the total instructional process.

Working conditions include a normal classroom and lab setting. Clinical experiences are typically performed in hospital or long-term care facilities. Some hazardous conditions exist.
