Description:Reporting to the Director of Student Affairs, the Manager of Student Affairs leads the budgetary execution and fiscal evaluation for the Office of Student Affairs and manages operational initiatives, inclusive of major student events. This role is responsible for overseeing annual operations in the student journey, ensuring fiscal responsibility while delivering high-quality experiences. The Manager will be an integral part of the Office of Student Affairs, responsive to student and staff needs, with a particular emphasis on financial stewardship and event management. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends during event seasons may be required.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manages the financial and logistical aspects of milestone events, including Orientation Week, White Coat Ceremony, Match Day, and Commencement, in collaboration with operations, event, and communication teams.
- Serves as the primary financial liaison for Student Affairs and collaborates across departments to ensure cost-effective event execution.
- Develops and manages comprehensive budgets for all major student events and initiatives.
- Analyzes event costs, identifies savings opportunities, and projects future expenses.
- Maintains financial timelines and procedural documents for all major events.
- Implements financial assessments and manages the Milestone Event Volunteer Staff group.
- Implements assessments and suggests improvements for all major events based on feedback from departments and student leaders.
- Assesses financial processes regularly and suggests improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Remains informed about best practices in higher education financial management and event planning.
- Participates in professional development activities as outlined by the Director of Student Affairs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 2-3 years of demonstrated experience in office operations/project management, fiscal management and working with college policy.
- Commitment to fostering an equitable and inclusive environment for diverse learners.
- Strong independent judgment and exceptional collaboration skills to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Google Suite; extensive computing experience.
