Job Description:
A Post-doctoral Associate in Computational Chemistry position is available for graduates in computational or theoretical chemistry or related field to work in a project on the to implementation of the MELD Integrative structural biology approach (currently a plugin to OpenMM) into the AMBER suite of programs led by Dr. Perez and co-advised by Dr. Roitberg in the Department of Chemistry at UF. We have a position available immediately in our group to work on (1) software implementation of the MELD approach (plugin to OpenMM) into the AMBER software (2) Performance and scaling of calculations in the new environment in our supercomputer cluster and application to molecular motors.
This position will be initially awarded for one year, and, contingent upon strong performance and conduct and availability of funds, may be renewed for one year.

Expected Salary:

Minimum Requirements:
PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science (focus computational biology) or related fields required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Contributed to MD software development
Methods development contributions in the area of computational structural biology
The successful candidate should have a strong background in computational chemistry applied to biomolecules.
Strong programming skills with strong track record (e.g. github, gitlab contributions)
Experience in molecular dynamics simulations and/or AI applied to biomolecules
Programming skills (e.g., python)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team
Ability to take initiatives, set priorities, time-manage, and resolve problem
