Working hours for this position consists of a 25-hour work week Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. exclusive of a ½ hour or 1 hour lunch. Specific work hours to be agreed upon by the supervisor and employee prior to the onset of employment. NOTE: This position may require one evening per week and the occasional weekend. This is not a remote work opportunity.
Summary:The Student Facilitator provides intensive case management services to historically underserved students who receive Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) “Cash Assistance” and/or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) “Food Stamps” benefits while attending classes at RACC. The KEYS Program is a Workforce Development Employment and Training Program under the Department of Human Services. The KEYS Student Facilitator will work with students to orient them to the KEYS Program services and resources, including childcare subsidies, education/training funds and much more. In addition, this individual will guide KEYS students through the RACC enrollment process, support the student as they navigate the college experience through successful completion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Conduct KEYS orientation and intake with students referred by the County Assistance Office to RACC to obtain their GED/HEP, Career Certificate, Credit Certificate and/or Associates Degree.
- Enroll the student in the KEYS Program by accepting the referral in CWDS, and conducting a face-to-face intake interview and assessment.
- Assist KEYS student in the enrollment process and review the participation requirements.
- Plan, develop and deliver comprehensive case management services through regular, monthly meetings to support the needs of KEYS students and ensure their success at RACC.
- Support the KEYS students in resolving compliance-related issues by collaborating with the CAO, other areas of the college and Community Partners/Resources.
- Submit requests for Special Allowances for KEYS students to the County Assistance Office.
- Track progress, student learning outcomes and assessment of student participation.
- Monitor student compliance and ensure that the KEYS student is attending classes and maintaining satisfactory academic progress.
- Provide updates to CAO regarding student’s compliance in the program.
- Maintain confidential student files.
- Serve as a liaison with the County Assistance Office (CAO) and Bureau of Employment and Training Programs (BETP) concerning the grant and program activities. This includes attendance at State meetings/conferences and regular communication with CAO liaisons.
- In cooperation with KEYS staff, develop and instruct academic programming, workshops, and facilitate support groups as necessary.
- Work cooperatively as a member of the Student Affairs Division, whose purpose is to provide academic and personal support to KEYS/RACC students. Assisting KEYS students in accessing additional support services to include accessibility services, academic coaching, tutoring, mentoring, scholarships, technical support and remediation.
- Assist with KEYS weekly, monthly, semester and yearly program reports required by the Department of Human Services (DHS), Bureau of Employment and Training (BEP) who awards the grants to the college.
- Provide data determined by the DHS that will be used to evaluate student and program outcomes.
- Assist in program evaluation as determined by the Director.
- Attend KEYS, State, in-service meetings, conferences, workshops, trainings and staff development as requested by the Director.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:Required
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Higher Education Administration or closely related field OR Bachelor’s degree with two years case management, academic advising with historically underserved students in a college setting, Workforce Development Employment and Training Programs and/or County Assistance Offices.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office software and the demonstrated ability to learn data management systems.
Preferred
- Bilingual communications (reading, writing and speaking) in English and Spanish
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Attention to details
- Able to complete tasks with minimum direct supervision
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be very comfortable operating computers especially being proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word software.
Communication Skills:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the College.
Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Mathematical Skills:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
