Grants Coordinator – STEM
The Grants Coordinator – STEM for locating, researching, and applying for grants that meet an organization's needs within the STEM fields.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to research funding sources related to the field of STEM
Ability to develop and produce grants and other proposals.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to determine informational needs, to collect and analyze information, and to devise and develop statistical analyses and reports.
Database management skills.
Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and/or projections.
Experience with grant software.
Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
Knowledge of current developments/trends in area of expertise.
Knowledge of federal, state and/or community funding sources and mechanisms.
Knowledge of budgeting and fiscal management principles and procedures.
Essential Functions
Research new sources of public and private grant funding
Work with appropriate staff on grant narratives, goals, outcomes, and updates as needed
Write proposals and applications for both unrestricted operating revenue and restricted projects to foundations, corporations, and government sources
Work with all required internal constituents and submit timely and accurate reports for all grant funded projects
Create and maintain grant/report schedule, deadlines, progress and awards
Maintain accurate foundation records and contact information in databases
Professionally and effectively work with other departments, donors, and community
Organize meetings with Business and Industry Leaders
Communicate with employers
Coordinate professional development for faculty and staff as related to grant funding
Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree
3+ years of experience in grant writing
