Description

Teach both undergraduate and graduate level courses in Literature and composition. Develop news courses to enhance B.A. and M.A. curriculums.

Be active in research/creative scholarly activities and provide service at multiple levels both within the university and outside the university.

Essential Responsibilities

Requirements:

The position of Assistant Professor of English requires a PhD degree or its foreign equivalent in Non-Western Literature and six (6) years of college-level teaching experience in Non-Western literatures.

Additionally, the applicant must have the following:

  • Experience with dissertation and teaching area in Non-Western Literatures such as: Non-Western World Mythology, contemporary fiction in Africa and its diaspora, Postcolonial Literature with a concentration on Africa and its diaspora, contemporary Anglophone fiction, and World Literature from antiquity to the contemporary era.
  • Experience with infusing course content with scholarship related to underrepresented and marginalized groups.
  • Conference presentations and the work towards publication as evidence of a strong record of scholarship in Non-Western literatures.
