Job Summary:

The Admissions and Records Specialist I is responsible for document imaging including preparation, production, scanning, retention, editing and quality assurance. The Admissions & Records Specialist I is also responsible for registering students.

The Admissions and Records Specialist I must maintain confidentiality, serve the general public in a professional and courteous manner, perform detailed work rapidly and accurately, establish effective working relationships with others, demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds andoccasional work in stressful situations while maintaining a positive attitude.

The Admissions & Records Specialist I reports to the Registrar.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

Knowledge of document imaging including preparation, production, scanning, retention, editing and quality assurance.
Register students efficiently.
Accurate data entry skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, see, file and bend. The employee is occasionally required to stand, kneel, bend, and twist upper body. The employee must regularly carry and lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 20-30 pounds. The employee must have manual dexterity. Must be able to operate a personal computer and other office equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum two to four years general clerical and customer service experience in a public contact position, in a higher education environment.

SALARY :

$33,000.00

Work Hours:

Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm. Other times occasionally.

Essential Job Functions:

Learn and use all imaging software and scanning hardware for electronic capture of student records.

Essential Job Functions:

Process, scan and index all incoming documentation for Admissions and Records.

Essential Job Functions:

Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers, including but not limited to assisting students at the counter and answering Admissions and Records phones.

Register students and assist with errors or conflicts that may occur.

Essential Job Functions:

Monitor, process received documents and provide responses to the Admissions email account.

Essential Job Functions:

Generate acceptance letter process and prepare letters for mailing.

Essential Job Functions:

Monitor inventory of consumables and complete purchase orders for Admissions and Records as necessary.

Comply with LSCPA policies and procedures.

Lamar State College - Port Arthur, a member of The Texas State University System, is an open-access, comprehensive public two-year college offering quality and affordable instruction leading to associate degrees and a variety of certificates.
