Job Description:
Established in 2022, the Hamilton Center for Classical and Civic Education is a multidisciplinary academic unit whose purpose is to support teaching and research concerning the ideas, traditions, and texts that shape Western civilization and American values and institutions. The Center also seeks to promote civil discourse and the ethics of citizenship, and to prepare students to see past their horizons and prepare for a lifetime of leadership and meaningful careers.
The Hamilton Center is seeking an Accountant III to serve as the primary financial lead. The Accountant III is responsible for managing and supporting all aspects of the financial operations, budgeting, and expense management according to UF policy. This role involves overseeing the allocation of funds, financial analysis, and reporting to ensure compliance with state, federal, and institutional guidelines. The position supports strategic planning initiatives, assists in policy formulation, and maintains financial records for accuracy and integrity.
Primary duties include:

Budgeting and Expense Management: Create the Center's "all funds budget" in the UF Budget Planner, monitor expenditures, manage financial approvals, and coordinate financial planning for academic and research activities.

Financial Analysis and Reporting: Ensure accurate budget administration, analyze financial data, generate reports, and ensure compliance with regulations.

Financial Planning for Events: Assist with financial planning for events and support facility-related financial operations.

Contract and Procurement Management: Manage vendor contracts, ensure compliance with bidding processes, and track expenses.

Grant and Scholarship Oversight: Oversee research grant budgets and track scholarship requests.
Expected Salary:
$80,000 - $100,000; commensurate based on education and experience.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred experience and education include:
- Expert in UF's financial policies.
- Experience in a higher education or nonprofit setting.
- Master's degree in finance or business administration.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification.
