Job Description:
The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida invites applications for a 12-month, non-tenure track, full-time position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Instructional Professor in the Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering (ISE).
The position will complement other current full-time instructional faculty appointments within the Department and the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering. There are currently four Assistant Instructional faculty and one Full Instructional Professor in the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department. The candidate must hold a doctorate in Industrial and Systems Engineering or a related discipline. It is also desirable that the applicant has a bachelor's degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering or a closely related discipline. Duties and responsibilities include teaching, revising and developing undergraduate and graduate Industrial and Systems Engineering curriculum, collecting data on student performance, and managing course contents for accreditation purposes. This position serves to engage students outside of the classroom in undergraduate research, college and university committees, and student organizations. The instructional faculty portfolio consists of 75% teaching, 20% research, and 5% department/professional service. Candidates are expected to be at the cutting edge of teaching pedagogy and conduct research in areas related to Engineering Education that complement and improve their teaching. Candidates are also welcome to continue or pursue additional research in Industrial and Systems Engineering related topics. Desired areas of teaching include: Human Factors and Ergonomics, Data Analytics, Production and other industrial engineering topics. Teaching assignments will be made according to background and experience.
UF ISE offers B.S., M.E., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees. We currently have 454 undergraduate students and 218 graduate students. The Department hosts research in various application areas including advanced manufacturing, energy systems, healthcare systems, human-in-the-loop systems, supply chain systems and transportation systems. We also currently host methodological research in data analytics, human systems engineering, manufacturing, optimization, simulation, and stochastic analysis. Minimum Requirements:
A doctorate in Industrial and Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering or a closely related discipline.
