Job Description:

The Department of Health Services Research, Management, and Policy (HSRMP) at the University of Florida (https://hsrmp.phhp.ufl.edu/) invites applications for a tenure/tenure track faculty position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month position. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Candidates should have demonstrated commitment to excellence in academic health services research spanning teaching, research, mentorship, and service. Ideal candidates will have experience and expertise applying their skills in studying health policy, payment policy, and access to care to health professions such as occupational therapy, physical therapy, clinical psychology, etc. As a department within the College of Public Health and Health Professions, we seek candidates who will contribute to both the department and the College's growing research portfolio. Tenured faculty are expected to secure approximately 50% salary support from extramural funding, contribute to the research mentorship of junior faculty, and assist with developing our PhD students. In addition, the candidate will be expected to teach upper-division undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses that support the Master in Health Administration, Master in Public Health, and/or Ph.D. programs. Service activities such as student mentorship, participation on college and departmental committees, and representation at national or international professional organizations are expected. The department has a strong relationship with the UF health system, and faculty routinely collaborate with health system leaders, clinicians, and policymakers.

The department is located in the Health Professions, Nursing, and Pharmacy Complex and is part of the top ranked accredited College of Public Health and Health Professions. The department has an active and significant research portfolio in diabetes, cancer, and health disparities. We offer a Master of Health Administration Program and oversee the health services research concentration in the PhD in Public Health Program and the population health management concentration in the MPH program. Faculty contribute to the undergraduate health science and public health programs through teaching and mentorship. Departmental faculty provide instructional and health services research expertise in diverse health areas, such as diabetes, infectious disease, cancer, and cardiovascular disease.

Expected Salary:

Negotiable based on experience.

Minimum Requirements:

A doctoral degree in health services research, health administration, health management, health economics, health policy, public health, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

The well-qualified candidate will have a distinguished record of scholarly achievement, extramural funding, classroom education, and mentoring experience consistent with the rank of Associate or Full Professor. Academic credentials should include a doctoral degree in health services research, health administration, health management, health economics, health policy, public health, or related field. The successful candidate hired at the Full Professor may also qualify for an endowed faculty position.

Special Instructions to Applicants:

Qualified applicants must submit an application packet, which includes a current Curriculum Vitae (CV), a letter that describes teaching, research, service, and career interests, and contact information for three references. Application review will begin immediately and continue until a suitable applicant pool has been established.

Final candidate will be required to provide official transcript to the hiring department upon hire. A transcript will not be considered “official” if a designation of “Issued to Student” is visible. Degrees earned from an education institution outside of the United States are required to be evaluated by a professional credentialing service provider approved by National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES), which can be found at https://apptrkr.com/get_redirect.php?id=5770397&targetURL=has an active and significant research portfolio in diabetes, cancer, and health disparities.
