The George L. Argyros College of Business and Economics at Chapman University invites applications for a tenured faculty position in Management Science beginning August 1, 2025. This position is open to Associate or Full Professors who have an international reputation of scholarship publishing in FT50 business journals.

The Argyros College of Business and Economics (ACBE) is fully accredited by AACSB and offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs, including an MS in Business Analytics degree that will launch in Fall 2025. Chapman's full-time MBA program is ranked #66 nationally by US News and World Report. The school currently has 1,800 undergraduates and 150 graduate students who attend classes in a modern 100,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility. We invite applicants with research interests in Information Systems, the Economics of Digitization, and related fields. With the upcoming launch of a new MS in Business Analytics (MSBA) program in Fall 2025, the Argyros College has an increasing need for faculty to teach data analytics courses. This position offers a unique opportunity to help shape and expand the MSBA program from the ground up, including developing relationships with prospective employers. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in machine learning, data science, social network analytics, business analytics, and large language models and encourage individuals with these skills to apply. The position provides a competitive salary, a balanced 2-2 teaching load, and ample support for scholarly endeavors, including incentive-based summer research funding and a discretionary research budget. Additionally, the position contemplates leadership opportunities, such as serving as the academic director for the MSBA program or establishing a related research center, with potential for additional support in recognition of these strategic contributions.
Responsibilities
- Engage in scholarly research, leading to publications in high-quality journals.
- Teach a range of courses that reflect the specialty interests of the candidate and the needs of the department.
- Actively contribute as an integral member of the Argyros College faculty by engaging in department and university service as expected of an Associate or Full Professor.
- Plan, develop, and deliver high-quality courses.
- Offer regular office hours to provide students with opportunities for one-on-one consultations, academic advising, and clarification of course materials.
- Contribute to the overall mission of the institution by attending program meetings and supporting campus-wide initiatives and events.
- Serve on academic committees or task forces within the institution, contributing to discussions and decisions related to academic policies, curriculum development, and other relevant matters.
- Associate or Full Professors are expected to develop and maintain an active research agenda and are evaluated on their research/scholarly/creative activity, teaching, and service.
Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in Economics, Information Systems, or other data science-related discipline from an AACSB-accredited business school or equivalent for international applicants is required.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
- Excellence in scholarship, as evidenced by an internationally recognized publication record in top business or economics journals.

Evaluation of applicants will begin upon receipt of applications and will continue on a rolling basis until the position is filled. The salary range for this position is $275,000 - $300,000. Salary is competitive and will be commensurate with experience. This position is contingent on final budget approval. Successful completion of a background check is required for the final candidate.
